Here are some meal planning tips for homemakers that have helped me plan a spring seasonal meal plan that works great for my family! One of the benefits of using the Seasonal Meal Planning System is that you get to tailor your repeating weekly menu to the season. I'm excited to share some of my favorite ideas with you to get you started. 🌿

If you haven't yet been introduced to my Seasonal Meal Planning System - be sure to check out this blog post: The Seasonal Meal Planning System: How To Plan a Repeating Seasonal Menu

In this post, I'm going to share some spring meal planning tips as well as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert ideas for spring. 🌷 Meal planning can be fun and stress-free so let's get started!

Spring Meal Planning Tips

Time to awaken the senses and pull ourselves out of the winter slumber! Spring meal planning is great for embracing the lightness and freshness that spring has to offer. The essence of spring is definitely rejuvenating, so let that be an inspiration for your spring seasonal meal plan.

Picture the scent of fresh flowers on a breezy morning.

A table set with simple elegance and a sense of newness.

Sunshine and fresh air coming in through open windows.

Simply wonderful! (And my favorite season!)

By creating a spring meal plan that reflects the season's mood, I'm able to focus on my family's health and rising energy levels as we get back into the bustle of activities spring brings. I recommend seeing this menu as an opportunity to let our body rest from the more indulgent menu of winter and look for ways to eat fresh, healthy, and clean.

Meal Planning Strategy for Health & Wellness

Spring is the perfect time of year to focus on our health and take care of ourselves through our diet. For me personally, I've found spring to be a "fresh start" time of year, where motivation grows. So let that excitement motivate you to create a meal plan that prioritizes your health and wellbeing.

Since the Seasonal Meal Planning System uses a repeating menu, it's easier than every to accomplish your health goals. To focus on health and energy, the best method is to choose recipes that are focused on using ingredients that are CLEAN, FRESH, and NURTRIENT DENSE.

By making it a goal to create a healthy menu, you'll be investing in your family's health and give yourself the energy you'll want as you get into homemaking projects!

Here are types of meals I remember to include when writing my spring seasonal meal plan:

  • Breakfasts that favor protein over carbs

  • Smoothies and refreshing drinks

  • Fruits or vegetables included at lunch

  • Meals that feel "fresh" with their flavors and ingredients

  • Cooking from scratch and avoiding packaged foods

Let me share some ideas with you!

Cooking with fresh ingredients

Cooking With Fresh Ingredients

If cooking from scratch is new or intimidating to you, please don't let that discourage you!

There are a lot of recipes available on Pinterest, blogs, and YouTube that are great for beginners who want to start cooking more. The key is to choose recipes that already feel familiar to you but include a new ingredient.

Already familiar with making spaghetti and meatballs?

🙌 Try making pasta primavera!

Used to tossing some baked chicken tenders and fries into the oven?

👍 Try baking some seasoned chicken breasts instead.

Bonus points if you bake it in a maple mustard sauce!

Comfortable putting together boxed mac & cheese?

🌟 Try making a one-pot lasagna soup!

Tip: For kiddos that are picky or hesitant to try new foods, you can slowly begin incorporating ingredients into meals that are already familiar to them. My own mom got me to try a lot of new foods when I was younger by letting me dip everything in ranch until I wasn't as scared of it. 😂

The more you cook from scratch the more comfortable and confident you will become with using the ingredients. The joy of serving your family a homecooked meal is a blessing, so don't miss out on the opportunity to practice! Start your dinner prep after breakfast or lunch to give yourself time to read the recipe, prepare ingredients ahead of time, and enjoy the process of improving your cooking skills so you don't feel rushed. 🌿
